Hi, I’m Ayu.

I live in Yogyakarta with my daughter and, at the moment, 15 dogs. Yes, 15. So you can probably expect quite a few dog stories here. I believe in adopt, don’t shop, and I’ll introduce you to the gang eventually.

I started Journeys of Joys because I like writing and sharing things I come across. Sometimes it might be about life in Yogyakarta, sometimes about dogs, places I’ve been, people I’ve met, or just something that’s been on my mind.

I’ll write in Bahasa Indonesia and English, and maybe some German every now and then. Basically, whatever language feels right for what I’m writing.

I’d also like to use this space to share other people’s stories. I find people interesting, and sometimes a good conversation is worth writing down.

I’m trying to write here more regularly. That’s the plan, anyway. But life happens, and sometimes that means there are rather long gaps between posts. I’m hoping to change that and write a little more often — we’ll see how it goes.

So that’s what you’ll find here. A little bit of everything, really.
